Want to make a difference for the small business community? NWA SCORE has several volunteer opportunities

dv1080004Every SCORE chapter depends on the talent and time of volunteers to help entrepreneurs achieve their small business ownership dreams. Our most prominent need is always volunteer mentors, but we always have need for general volunteers.

One of our biggest volunteer needs is workshop coordinators and facilitators. Our workshops are an educational, training program for a group on a business-related topic. They are one of our key services.

Training workshops or seminars may be conducted face-to-face, conference call or webinar. No matter what the method or who sponsors the events, attendees must be registered and actually attend the training workshop for it to be counted as a SCORE workshop.

Other SCORE volunteer opportunities

Many of our volunteers have unique skills that make them a perfect general volunteer. General volunteers work on specific projects or perform specific tasks based on their unique skills. The service of SCORE volunteers whether with individuals, online, or behind the scenes is of utmost importance in helping us serve our clients and fulfill the mission of SCORE.

Northwest Arkansas SCORE offers many general volunteer opportunities including:

  • Workshop development: Assisting in any or all of the following during the workshop planning and implementation process: program development, moderator, presenter, registrar duties; other workshop administration;
  • Office work and administration: Tasks include filing, pulling reports, social media support, IT support, fundraising, etc.)
  • Community ambassador: You can support our mission by talking to other groups about what SCORE does and offers. Some responsibilities may include work that involves community activities performed on SCORE’s behalf;
  • Leadership: SCORE has a variety of opportunities available for individuals who possess leadership talent and enjoy the thrill of casting vision, rallying individuals toward it, and helping each person see how their unique strengths helps fulfills the purpose of SCORE. Volunteers must be involved with at least one year before being considered for leadership roles.
